My daughter was only 13 or so when she made that comment. It did make me think quite hard at the time too.

The two things I would like to give my children in life are roots and wings. A place where they feel they belong... and the confidence to go out into the world and make their own mark.

Sometimes I wonder if the ex-pat existence can achieve this... but then again, if you can grow up between cultures, then you can probably make a home elsewhere very happily too. At least I hope so.
