If you were forced to find something good about the deployment, it could be that Mike gets a car. At least, Mike will consider that a plus.

One tiny plus for you - think of it this way. You don't have to get up a 0-dark-30 to take him to any swim practices, etc!
We had that semi-worked out last year. HE would get up at 0-dark-30 and take himself to practice. Then he would call me at 7 to wake me up, and I would roll out of bed and drive him to school so I could have the car. It'll be nice not to have to do that this year though!
