I remember going to Grandma J's and banging pots and pans at midnight. And didn't you used to set the clocks forward a few hours on Dec. 31 so the kids could "see midnight," but it'd really only be about 9:00 or something? And you'd still have them in bed at a normal time? Or maybe I'm confusing you with one of my friends.
