Welcome to the world of driving!

we get a 6 month reprieve... VA requires one to be 15 and 6 months before applying. Congrats to Mike.

Congrats, Mike! However, the girls won't think he is so cool driving a soccer-mom vehicle. See you guys late Thursday night!

Gravatar You can't get a learner's permit in KY until 16. Given that we will be moving to who knows where next summer though, we decided to let him go ahead and get his permit here in FL--which is, after all, our permanent address--so that he could have a year of practice at low-speed, no-traffic Fort Knox.

As far as the minivan goes, it's not sexy, but it's safe! Looking forward to seeing you guys!

Gravatar Yea Mike! I loved the photos! The "freaking out" one is the best!! LOL!!!

Kevin starts Driver's Ed on Monday. Here in NC you have to complete that first AND be 15 to get a learner's permit.

How scary is it that you only have to be 14 to take Driver's Ed here!?!?

Kevin driving ... scary. Dylan being able to start Driver's Ed in 4 months ... beyond terrifying!

Gravatar Not to be stupid and lawyerly, but my impression is that learner's permits aren't really valid out of the state in which they're issued, and almost certainly aren't valid if you haven't reached the minimum driving age in the state in which you are driving... I'm certainly no expert, but it would seem that if Mike got pulled over on post, he would be driving without valid credentials... and this sometimes delays the ability to obtain a correct license in the future...

Just something to think about
