Bonnie: Geek lawyer question here... did you check to see whether a learner's permit allows the child to drive outside of the state of issue? I presume that of this 200 miles, at least some was outside of KY, and I also presume that he has a KY learners permit...

Chris, KY will recognize another state's learner's permit ONLY if the driver is at least 16. So Mike just drives on post at home. But in GA and AL (and obviously FL), it's all fine. So we're trying to maximize his driving time while we're outside of 'tucky.
