Closeup of a seashell! Whelk, I think. It's a good sized one too, a bit longer than my hand.

Wow! What an afterthought. Your world is fun to see, because of how different it is from mine. We share a love for the water and kayaking, but I'm a coward in big cities. Thanks for your great blog, especially the kayaking and sailing stuff. Rolls are wierd to me. I feel best on my right but it only works 50%. I feel bad on the left, but have not missed one. When put over in a 40/50 wind and I had to roll, my fear made me go right and it worked. I'm backing off a bit out here. We just had our second shark attack in two months. The first was 70 miles away and the second about 150 miles away, but I hit that whale right here and now have the willies. Thanks also for the Little Sister type writing. One feels like they are part of your life on the first read and this is nice. Happy New Year, Bonnie. Best Wishes.

Thanks everybody! That was fun. A day of extremes - from one of the quieter fringes of NYC to the hyperactive heart of things, so to speak.
Salt Water, nice to see you back, been a while! Hope you had a good holiday season!
Of course I hope EVERYBODY had a good holiday season, but SW took a break over the holidays. Hope that means you had good plans. Also hope you aren't floating away out there in rainy rainy CA - unless it's of the intentional variety of floating away.

Thanks for the tour!
Seems like i know to little about NY...Good shots!
You are either holding the camera, showing only your pony tail or face the camera some 10 feet away with silhouette...Funny shots!
Funny girl? Happy New (York) Year!

Oh, and you forgot my favorite way of appearing in my own blog without actually appearing in my own blog - having somebody take my picture while I'm upside-down in my kayak! Ha ha!

That's a good try, really.
Must have something to do with frogma, your "extrodinary" character, that is :p
Take care and enjoy ))
