Hey, Doc, thanks for the kind words! Tillerman posted some encouragement, and more importantly his blog pointed me to that key for the large-thighed runner, BODYGLIDE. Given the mild chafing I'm experiencing on my short runs I can see I'm going to need a case of the stuff, 'cause I doubt my legs will get any thinner!

I'm sorry, I've got to that sad age when those shorts actually look good!
It's really rather pleasing that I am a constant source of embarresment to my girls!

Mark - Oh, I'm just jealous of the Malaysians, seeing as I'm here where I have to dress in a manner that practically comes up to Taliban standards (except for that business of you can still tell I have legs when I'm wearing my drysuit) for women's wear to go paddling this time of year. But then FH20, at least, is jealous of me being able to go to this thing in Florida I'm off to at the end of the month - evidently the kayak scene out there hasn't taken off enough to support a symposium.
Scott - I've heard good things about that stuff among my kayaking circles too.
Pandabonium - thanks!

Speakin of shorts n excuses; I used to do a race a month (marathons, half-marathons and 10K)which inevitably entail hitting the road everyday until it became an issue with my other half! At least with kayakin i only get on the waters on the weekends and its much easier to come up with an excuse once in a week! Pathetic huh?
