Clearly he has not read the Hadith vol. 9, nos. 162, 163 - the oral traditions of Muhammad - where Muhammad asserts that dreaming about a black woman is a sign of bad things to come. - Shay
Or read the Jewish Torah (Book of Genesis, 9:20-27) and its "Curse Of Ham" that served as the Judaeo-Christian basis of anti-Black racism and enslavement.

"Or read the Jewish Torah (Book of Genesis, 9:20-27) and its "Curse Of Ham" that served as the Judaeo-Christian basis of anti-Black racism and enslavement."
Much more controversially, however, the "curse of Ham" has been used by some members of major Abrahamic religions to justify racism and the enslavement of people of African ancestry, who were thought to be descendants of Ham (often called Hamites), either through Canaan or his older brothers. This racist theory was common during the 18th-20th centuries, but has been largely abandoned even by the most conservative theologians since the mid-20th century.

The "Curse of Ham" has been proven to be a myth many times over.
Ham was not "cursed" anyway in the Scripture - it was Canaan. Either way, the way Christians believe, no curse from Noah or anyone else will overrule the sacrifice of Christ.
As far as the declarations from the Hadith that Shay has pointed out numerous times - I have yet to hear a Muslim say, "No, that's not what it says..."
-----------
The Sons of Noah
18 The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.) 19 These were the three sons of Noah, and from them came the people who were scattered over the earth.
20 Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded [a] to plant a vineyard. 21 When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. 22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father's nakedness and told his two brothers outside. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father's nakedness. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father's nakedness.
24 When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, 25 he said,
"Cursed be Canaan!
The lowest of slaves
will he be to his brothers."
26 He also said,
"Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem!
May Canaan be the slave of Shem. [b]
27 May God extend the territory of Japheth [c] ;
may Japheth live in the tents of Shem,
and may Canaan be his [d] slave."

The Arab/African tension is real and the Palestinian issue is too. As a result of Shay's contempt for so much of Arab culture and people, I began reading about Arab/African relations. It was pretty startling. Most of what I read revealed a pervasive racism by Arabs against blacks and a general contempt that was to the point of casual acceptance. Arab culture, not the teachings of the Koran, appears to be light-years behind the rest of the world in terms of tolerance of racism. Without completing my readings, black folks don't get close to a fair shake in Arab countries.
However, that racism is juxtaposed somewhat by Palestine:
Here is what Nobel Laureate Desmond Tutu said on the subject:
During the gist of Apartheid's cruelty, Nobel Laureate and Archbishop Desmund Tutu went to the [the Middle East]. He stood in Jerusalem on Christmas Day of 1989 and said before an audience "I am a black South African, and if I were to change the names, a description of what is happening in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank could describe events in South Africa."
Desmund Tutu gave a lecture in Boston, where he affirmed Israel's right to security, but added "What is not so understandable, not justified, is what it does to another people to guarantee its existence. I've been very distressed during my visits to the Holy Land; it reminds me so much of what happened to us, black people, in South Africa during the apartheid rule."

True. Except Islam remains the only religion that still enslaves black folks in the 21st century. As Mark M pointed out, the Arab Muslim world - and Arab cultures in general - remains far behind the rest of the world in its dealings with black folks and the treatment of black folks within their socieites. So the racist way in which the Arab press treats Secretary Condi Rice is hardly a surprise here.

I think Shay and others have misconstrued the Hadith
Clearly he has not read the Hadith vol. 9, nos. 162, 163 - the oral traditions of Muhammad - where Muhammad asserts that dreaming about a black woman is a sign of bad things to come. - Shay
I searched the Hadith and found the following passages. They appear to be testimony of those who were in the presence of Muhammed at the time of his dream. I include all 3 witnesses(Abdullah, Abdullah bin Umar & Salim's father).
(2) Narrated Abdullah: The Prophet said, "I saw (in a dream) a black woman with unkempt hair going out of Medina and settling at Mahai'a, i.e., Al-Juhfa. I interpreted that as a symbol of epidemic of Medina being transferred to that place (Al-Juhfa)." (Book #87, Hadith #161)
(3) Narrated Abdullah bin Umar: concerning the dream of the Prophet in Medina: The Prophet said, "I saw (in a dream) a black woman with unkempt hair going out of Medina and settling at Mahai'a. I interpreted that as (a symbol of) the epidemic of Medina being transferred to Mahai'a, namely, Al-Juhfa." (Book #87, Hadith #162)
(4) Narrated Salim's father: The Prophet said, "I saw (in a dream) a black woman with unkempt hair going out of Medina and settling in Mahai'a. I interpreted that as (a symbol of) epidemic of Medina being transferred to Mahai'a, namely, Al-Juhfa." (Book #87, Hadith #163)
The dream was about a specific black woman with unkempt hair as a sign of an epidemic, not all black women. There is no indication that Mahammed was saying that all Black women were a bad omen.

Praise Allah, I'm so proud of you. Nice shoot down of Shay's anti-Islamic propaganda machine.
As if any culture or religious group has a corner on racism or oppression, we've all been down that road, some of us have just moved a little farther along than others. The best we can hope to do is help to pull the misguided into the light, as opposed to trying smear an entire belief system with some flawed and warped interpretations.
This kind of thing is no better and no different then what Islamic extremists do misinterpreting passages from the Torah and HafTorah using them to justify anti-Semitic beliefs. Something Mel Gibson would probably be familiar with.
But you know after thinking about it, Shay's interpretation is starting to speak to me, I see some truth in those words. I have dreamt about black women, and then bad things did actually happen. Now I'm beginning to understand.
Maybe I should've been blaming them all along. I guess I didn't make the connection until just now. Thanks Shay for helping me to see the light, I guess all the sisters are trouble, at least as far as I'm concerned. From now on I'll cross the street whenever I get the urge to flirt.
Did you guys see that Condi made the Vanity Fair's international best dressed list?

Condoleezza is immaculately groomed, there's no doubt about that. And I must admit she's an impeccable dresser, girlfriend has taste. But she could use a little work on those teeth, that's the only real flaw I can see.
It's too bad she can't transfer some of those looks into actions. She is the most powerful women on the planet, possibly the most powerful Black woman in history, and she does virtually nothing. I can see now why Colin Powell didn't want this job anymore, it's a sham and a token, and Condoleezza's interpretation is just about as impotent.
You would think that the Secretary of State of the United States could walk into the Middle East and say to Israeli government and Hezbollah, break it up boys or I'm going to send in the fifth Fleet to separate you to children until you can learn to behave. With the power that she's got all she should really have to do is make it clear to both of these warring factions that she's not playin. I guess it's too bad that Condi isn't a mother, then she'd know exactly how to deal with unruly rambunctious children who act up. And perhaps thousands of lives would be saved.
Personally I think if Condi had any real intestinal fortitude and sense of responsibility to the Constitution and the people of the United States, she would immediately seize control of the government and instruct the Marine guards at the White House to arrest George W. Bush and the rest of his comedy team playing at being a presidential administration, charging them with high treason, crimes against humanity, and conspiring to bring about biblical Armageddon. Lock them away in some deep dark hole and feed them bread and water until the their trials roll around.
Now that would impress me, she'd get my vote for president in the next election.
Bully!

Bush and Condi clash over Israel; president overrules her for the first time
http://www.insightmag.com/Media/...ager/
Condi4.htm
"One Jewish friend of Bush actually called up a senior Israeli official and began yelling, 'What the hell's going on here,'" a source said. "'Are you going to fight or what?'"
(I know Justin is gunna like that quote.)
Looks like Condi's conscience is getting to her. I wonder how much longer she's going to be able to stomach dishing out the Bush administration's dishonest policy in the Middle East. I imagine a crisis of conscience is approaching for her, the point in which she must choose between the oath she took to uphold the Constitution and protect the United States, and her loyalty to George W. Bush, for these loyalties continue to be in direct opposition to one another.
.
Perhaps Condi is finally beginning to realize that the administration long ago placed their loyalty to some extreme conservative ideology ahead of their loyalty to the United States of America. This is what makes their convictions and actions the very definition of the word treason. Their obvious willingness to set aside the Constitution and the safety of the American people in order to follow the neocon dream wherever it would lead them, even to the destruction and ruin of us all.
Secretary Rice knows exactly what occurred in the White House when the Bush administration began making its plans for war in Iraq after 9/11, she was perhaps present during those conversations in which the president and his advisers made the decision to mislead and deceive the people of the United States in order to take us so recklessly into this ill-conceived war.
Perhaps now Condi will find the courage to stand up and expose this administration and their corruption, for if any one American is in a position to save this Republic and pull us back from the brink on which we now teeter, it is Secretary Rice. I can only hope against hope that she has the deep strength of character and love for her country it would undoubtedly require at this point to stand up and do the right thing.
Perhaps I'm naïve to even think this possibility, perhaps Condoleezza believes that she made her choice and it's too late to turn back now, but it's never too late to stand up for the truth if you believe in something. Should she find the courage to choose the path of morality and complete disclosure, I say to her now for all the world to witness, I will stand by your side Madam Secretary and champion you against all comers.
Let God defend the righteous.
Blessed are the peacemakers.
