not so rosie.
you can get eggs from a hen that has never seen a rooster. however the eggs will not be fertilized and will not be able to hatch chicks.

Heck yes I have an interest in chickens!! What kind do you have? I have a flock of Rhode Island Reds right now; they're my favorite. But I've raised bantams before too... moody little things Sad story though: a possum got into the coop last night. Now we're down by one hen. Anyway, good luck with your flock!!
