I suppose the Protocols of the Elders of Zion might make the list -- inspiring hate and racist murder since 1897.

How about Ayn Rand'" Atlas Shrugged " And " The Fountainhead". Narcissistic neo-fascist workes if I ever saw one.

I have to agree with #9 and go on to say that perhaps no other works in U.S. history have undergone such "revision" and glorification. Anyone who denies that the Civil War was about slavery is a fool. Those poor saps who fought and died for the confederacy, "their States," were manipulated in a way that we haven't seen since, well not including today of course.
Go back and read some of the southern "Fire Eater" speeches prior to secession and see if they have a very familiar ring. Think Zell Miller at the RNCC driving the wedge...

Cranky, I teach at a rural Southern school as the token Yankee. Believe me, my perspective on the war, and the way I teach it, is a bit different than what some of these kids are used to. Most of them still wear their flags on their shirts with the 'Dixie Outfitters' crap.
