This sounds remarkably similar to my weekend on luch was dinner... I love my charcoal BBQ but last night it look forever to light. We managed to eat only an hour and a half later than our quests had wanted. Normally I'm not be bothered when we eat - it's part of the joy - but one is serverly diabetic. I may have to buy one of these new fangled gas things!
As a devout Canadian, there is but one true BBQ and it is powered by gas. Tastes just as good and a fraction of the fuss. TB

I know what you mean with a kid checking to see how they're doing in the middle of a competition. In fencing bouts, they are hooked up to an electric sensor, that notes whether a hit was true or out of the target zone. Trixie (and lots of other kids, too) has a tendency to check the light-up board to see if her hit was true. This means she loses precious seconds that could hav been used for a second attack if the first hadn't been compete. I'm always reminding her not to look at the board. *sigh*
He he... Too true. TB

I LOVE SPANIKOPITA! Recipe forthcoming? With downtime, I'm going to suspect you have free time for blog meet ups?
I'll try to pull one together. TB
