I remember the first time I slept here. After my house, nominally in town but in a quiet cul de sac and with a huge secluded garden, those cows and owls kept me awake most of the night.
I'm a country mouse now and love it, but I rather envy your best-of-both-worlds.
Its funny how we tune out certain sounds, but are sensitive to others. I find it really difficult to sleep when there's any street noise now. Give me a noisy cow any day. TB

It's good that you actually *do* take advantage of the city. I know so many people who say things like, "oooh, I couldn't live in the country because I really need the intellectual and artistic stimulation of living near the city!" but who never actually take in a show or an exhibit.
And then, country mice have much better diets than the fast-food city mice!
Its the food that does it for me. I love knowing where the goods in my larder come from. TB
