The Boy on Top

Gravatar Why do you push yourself so hard?

Its the way I'm built. I come from a long line of Type A workaholics. Thankfully none of us worked ourselves into an early grave, all my male forefathers lived to ripe of ages in their 70s and 80s. TB

Gravatar I could never cope with that.

Could never or would never? I suspect you could if you needed to. TB

Gravatar You can't do a job like yours half-heartedly, can you, or anyway not for more than a very short while.

How many brackets can you keep open in your head at once?

How many of the 87 are things which you know in your heart of hearts you will never do at all?

Correct, half hearted won't work. You're either in and busy or out.

Ha! That's a very good description. However I have never counted and don't intend to. I am a non paper based person, I use the effort of typing my electronic task list as an exercise to lodge the activity in my brain. From a one time exercise about 10-20% of the task list either resolves itself without my intervention or becomes redundant. Usually I'm pretty good at leaving those at the bottom of the queue, though occasionally I get caught out! TB

Gravatar I just read yesterday that fish oil and the B vitamins may help alleviate mild depression.

That, or you could join an Inuit village. Supposedly people in the Far North have very little depression (hence, the fish oil).

A few 5 minute blog breaks during the day are my equivalent at the moment! I do take cod liver oil suppliments though. TB

Gravatar I dont function nearly as well when there is no stress or pressure...I think sometimes I create my own chaos in order to function more sharply. Here's to the Sun.

Indeed, some stress is a good thing. How much varies from person to person. The trick is to make sure you keep it to what you need. Still doesn't discount the need for a little Sun... TB

Gravatar Well, working is better than being bored at work!

Cheesy advice for the day "when it rains look for the rainbow"

Yeah, that was pretty bad....

Ehem... yeah... Made me laugh though. TB

Gravatar Ugh. And I feel under pressure with my to-do list stretching to a single side of A4 in quite large-writing ...

Bet it feels good to tick them off the page though? TB

Gravatar As long as things aren't coming in faster than you can deal with the urgent ones, as long as you don't spend too much time reacting to problems instead of planning to prevent problems arising, and as long as you can switch off when you get home and have one day a week to recover, it's a challenge rather than a burden.

Sunshine helps too. Hope we'll get some tomorrow.

It is still definatley a challenge rather than a burden. Could still do with a bit of sun though! TB

Gravatar I couldn't do it without being a royal bitch. I get so cranky when I'm tired!
