I know just what you mean, sometimes I bore myself just writing the post and am sorry for anyone trying to read it. I've always had the feeling that if I don't write for a week or two, I never might again and, as I'm very fond of my blog, I don't want that to happen.
Not that any of your posts are ever boring of course.
If you still don't feel like writing when you come back, a few scenic photos would keep me happy for a bit!

Holidays, work, children, jobs around the house, maintaining a relatioship with your spuse and friends.
They are all demands on time which are important. I'm sure you'll be lurking around!
As for feeling stale, I've reviewed some of my older posts and they seem so much more engaging than those of late.
I too won't be stopping as I do enjoy it, but I'll post when I want to for a little while.
Enjoy Derbyshire, It's my home and I spent my child and yound adult hood traming around it's endless terain.
Its a lovely place isn't? The cottage is on a cliff about the Dove. Wonderful place, I always love going, though its a bit of a slog to get there. TB

Don't worry about lying fallow for a bit. I'm trying to get out of the habit of worrying about losing readers (all 3 of them) if I don't post something every 24 hours - it's a sure sign I'm forgetting why I started a blog in the first place.
I definitely agree with the stream of consciousness though. Always a good brain workout.
Only way to blog is for yourself. Personally I'd blog if nobody showed up. It's a way to let out stuff. People commenting is a kind of bonus I suppose.
Don't worry about thinking you're boring (you're not incidently) just do it when you want to and for your own benefit.

Have a good time away. I think it's refreshing to have a bit of time away from the blogsphere, I've been contemplating it myself, although with everything going on I'm finding it unendingly useful.

know how you feel! i had a hard time this summer and then the fall, just seemed like there was so much going on, but i couldn't bring myself to put out any good posts. Well, have a great vacation!!
