I walked out of my job with 2 weeks to go. I just could not stand another second with them...went in on a Sunday, dropped off all my paraphernalia and dumped the office key in the letter box with a note.
Terrible I know. My Mom nearly hit the roof, mouthing off about references and reputation...which normally would be true...but in this case it was a lost cause anyway, there was so much ill-feeling and prejudice. I'll never ever mention them on my CV anyway.
So, good luck settling in and all...I bet you'll be as successful in this one as in the last. Keep us posted.
Good for you. Sometimes its necessary. Oddly for me I didn't think there was ill will, thought I was leaving in good odor. I think I did with just about everyone else in the organisation. Either I met with him on a bad day, or he's pissed I left him the lurch (which I kind of did). Anyway, I'm gone, its time to start anew. TB
Reading your post on Friday I got the impression that you had rather steeled your self for a bad meeting.
I suppose it's nice to know you were right!
But as you say, a new dawn. The honeymoon period is always a good feeling for me.
I'd steeled myself for a certain bad message, I hadn't preparred for antagonism. The first day was good, I think there's a lot I can do to improve some things quickly. However, there's a few political fights on the horizon... TB
And are your new employers 'cool' about your blogging or are you now completely undercover?
Undercover for the moment. My new boss is on holiday this week, and we didn't get a chance to meet up before I started, so I still have to spend some time setting up the groundrules. I suspect a pretty liberall attitude here, even more so than the last place where my blogging was known to a few of my colleques. We shall see. TB
