If it's quirky then give me a Huf house any day!
They are legendarily well built.
Oh and they have full height windows.
If we ever build from scratch I'd love to work with Huf. For modern house design I think they are one of the innovators at the moment. TB

I wonder if the leaking problems have something to do with that bank of windows on the top floor? (I am not an architect, nor do I play one on TV).
But I hear you. It has been lovely so far living in a rental this year. No upkeep of the yard (a big garden is great, but my oh my is there no fun in weed pulling, pruning, and putting a garden to bed for the winter, etc.), no worries of needing to fix something if we hear a strange noise (we would just call the housing service people), and thus SO. MUCH. FREE. TIME!!
Oh my, that sounds like heaven. I hate the diy stuff, and there is always so much to do.
We've have many leak problems, but oddly enough not off that bank of windows at the top. The bit of flat roof above it is all lead covered, and is very robust. The biggest problem was the terrace you can see surounded by the iron railing. We thought that was sound, but in the end it turned out that it was a leaky sieve and the beams beneath it completely rotten through. Now THAT was a big job to fix, and horribly timed. I still remember a night when it was storming and LL and I were on the terrace, in our PJs desperately trying to rig a better cover as the water was literally pouring through into our bedroom. TB

Sweet lookin' house Boy. The only problem that I ever had with my house was that the ex-wife took it. Cheers!!
I think that officially counts as a bigger problem than any of mine... TB

Hard work maybe but well worth it I reckon. Lookin' for my quirky house right now for when Jax hops it to Uni. Want lots of beams and things to hang my muskets on.
Don't forget the detached barn to park the vespa in, and an armour rack to hand the mod jacket and trilby. Where is Chez Dinners going to relocate to? TB

Finished refurbing my house a few years ago and doubt I would do it again. Such hard work. That looks like a fantastic house and you must be seriously loaded.....lol. Lets have some pics of the inside too!
No inside pics until the build works are done, its a mess as we move out of various rooms. Not loaded, just bloody lucky. We bought 11 years ago when the market was still flat after the crash. Probably couldn't afford it if we had to buy now! TB

It is a beautiful looking house! When I eventually buy it will look like a matchbox in comparison I expect. Oh, and I'll only be able to afford to own half of it
Its all relative CG, this is a matchbox in comparrison to some of the others near about us! TB

OH, it is simply gorgeous! WOW!
Many think otherwise. Its a house who's look people either love or hate, there's not a lot of indifference. But thanks! TB
