I too have a touch of the blues, but I have suffered thoughout my adult life with, as Churchill described it, 'my Black Dog'
Yet, when I sit in our nice home driving my new car and with a healthy family I also think that despite my frustrations with work, life is pretty good. We could all do with more money, more holidays, less crossed words with loved ones, but there are much worse places I could be in life.
Fortunatly my Black Dog is in his kennel at the moment and has been for over a year and a half, but I can;t shake these Blues.... Damn them!
Anyway I have a day off in lieu tomorrow which makes for a (free) elongated bank holiday weekend.
Yay
Keep that dog at bay. To quote the great Bobby McFerrin, "Don't worry, be happy." Not always easy to do, mind you, but something to strive for. TB

I think it's the turning of the season: summer's almost over, school is about to start, and because we all started out with years of school, it's ingrained that this is a melancholy time of year.
It's a good sort of gloomy when you can pull yourself out the other side.
I hadn't thought of a culturally induced end of summer pre school blues, but I think you've got something there. It is absolutely a reversable gloom though, which is a good thing. TB

It's the reason I'm always going on about being good to myself. It's easy to get into the habit of looking on the dark side and, even if you can't help feeling blue, you can still take enjoyment out of little things and recognise the good side of life.
Exactement. TB

It's true. It's quite easy for me to fall into stress-induced malaise -- but when I step back and reflect, I usually have to ask myself, "Why aren't you having fun?" The answer is usually no answer. Reminders are good. x, c
Indeed. Life is seldom so bad depression has real cause. Which isn't to say it isn't real, just that we need to knock ourselves out of it. TB

This was a good post duddler. We all need to remind ourselves that life, though maybe not fantastic, is usually more than we think. As you say, I have experienced a bit of blues, but usually I come out of it pretty quickly if I step back, and its good to remember that it is natural to hit the troughs to ensure the peaks seem more pleasurable sometimes. We can't go round being completely thrilled all the time! That's not natural.
For the second time today, exactement! Our inner chemical brew just doesn't do one emotion, we have to deal with them all in time. TB
