I know the type, I do, I meet them periodically in my job. It's typical thay the have coerced somebody else in to it to justify their irrational actions.
The beauty of living in a rural settlement is that you can always get your hands on a big steaming pile of fresh manure and heap it at the end of their driveway!

Grrr, yes I agree. No one is more tactful than you and you won't react angrily and escalate it, but some people really are impossible to deal with. They must have never had a real problem or tragedy in their lives to worry about.
Quite possibly not. They seemed to have passed on the complain taint to their children as well, which is really quite sad. I'd mostly ignore it myself, but it winds LL up quite badly. TB
Go to defcom 3. Much more fun. Don't take it seriously just take the piss. It'll drive em nuts. I know. Been there. I turned it into great fun and the 'for sale' sign was up inside a couple of months.

Yes, they have empty lives.
We run across quite a few of this type now that we have a "menacing" Rottweiler. There are folk in the world who look to be wronged just so they have something to say.
Butters? Menacing? Can't be with a name like that.
Yes, they fall into that category, need to be wronged because nothing else happens in their lives. TB
Argh I HATE this type of person. Actually hate. They need drop kicking.
What you need to do is fight fire with fire. Figure out something to complain about them, then do it. Angry notes galore damnit!!

Yes Boy, unfortunately there are people whose lives are so empty that that is all they have. I know that you might want to smack them upside the head, but I would just pity them. Cheers to you and yours!!

I work in a lab with next-bench neighbors who are like that. I've started saving their notes and taping them up in my office. It's kinda become a joke now and they leave less notes.
Maybe display yours proudly on the fridge.
Ooo, good one, or I could start posting them on our front gate for the other neighbours to see! I like this idea. TB
