I busy couple of week indeed. Do they give you Time Of Inn Lieu? If not you should perhaps introduce it as a policy!
It must be calming to see that your mother is well and happy.
At least the journey home will be brightened by the prospect of seeing the children.
It's something I've found recently; I look forward more to the journey home knowling that when I walk though the door I'll see Pickle crawling towards me at top speed with a big grin on his face.
Getting home to the family is one of the great pleasures of my life.
Time off in lieu? Not a bloody chance! If I clocked up every hour of 37.5 in lieu I'd take more than half the year off... TB

What? Showers at the airport? How cool.
Good that you had a pleasant visit with your family. Even if part of it was cathartic -- that must have been good, too.
Welcome home.
Yup, most airports have some sort of shower facilities. An airline who shan't be named has quite nice ones. You get a little cubicle with a shower, toilet, sink etc. They even take your shirt and trousers away and press them. All quite convenient.
It was cathartic that service. As you say, in a good way. TB
