Congrats Boy...I share your sentiments as to my son. Cheers!!
I suspected you would. Which raises another question. Though I know plenty of fathers like us, engaged and loving their kids, I also know many who are not. Its one of those points where I start to have an understanding failure. How could you not love your kids? I know some who don't, but its so deep rooted in me I don't... quite... get why not? TB

Cheers! Here's a pat on the back for you, proud papa [pat, pat].
Parent-teacher night here in the US has morphed into student presentation night. The kids put together a portfolio of their current work, sit down with their parents and the teacher, and give a brief 10-minute talk about what they're doing and what they plan to focus on next. I like it because we no longer have to deal with the time-thief parents that you describe. But I do miss the private time with teacher...
What a great idea, I like that a lot. Still, I wouldn't want to give up on that little bit of private time. TB

That's excellent, and though I am sure you don't need to be told, those report cards are an excellent keepsake.
My youngest brother recently left the parental home and we had a family dinner to celebrate. My mother brought out various school report cards for all three of us 'children' as a trip down memory lane, and it really was great fun.
Mine were the best though, obviously. Apart from one comment from a teacher who said I had a tendency to be a little sarcastic in class, which could be disruptive at times. I was seven.
I shall keep that in mind! I can't quite believe that comment about you though. You mean it took until the age of seven to recognise that characteristic in you? TB

My reports all said how quiet I was.
I'm very glad for you - so good to know all your three are happy and doing well.
Thank you. I'm pretty glad for them too! TB

That's what it's all about it, isn't it?
Hmm, yes and no. I have children because I honestly believe that is why I'm on this earth. The pure pleasure in their existance is just a huge benefit. TB

I dont understand it either. Sometimes when things are going badly, I wonder what I am doing on this Earth, and then I just think about Ryan. There's my answer. The love for one's child, at least for me, is literally undescribable, and something that all should want to experience. Cheers!!
A philosophy I whole heartedly agree with. Its that mystery which makes it so wonderful. TB
