The Boy on Top

Gravatar That's the thing about you, Boy - you could have focused on the things that went wrong and how it spoilt the holiday - but no, you were glad that the worst didn't happen, and said how lucky you were.

Very sorry to hear about your mother, and your sisters too, and I hope good recoveries are made.

I'm very sensible when climbing ladders because I'm quite scared of heights.

Rested and jolly, yes I am, thank you. All went well and there was some splendid news which I'm not at liberty to talk about.

I got that from my Mother. Drives two of my sisters to distraction, we always find the good and gloss over the bad. Doesn't mean the bad doesn't happen, you just carry on, look for the good. Its always there, always.

Thanks, Mum's a worry. Its tougher on my sister who lives in the same city. The burden falls most on her, and its about to get harder. She's a trouper though, as is Mum. Its looking good.

Very glad about the good news. Do tell when the time is appropriate. TB

Gravatar I'm so sorry to hear about you mum - did I mention that Wifey had a stroke when she was 26. It was a massive stroke but she has recovered almost completely. I hope her recovery continues.

As for the ladder - a silly mistake that I have made twice - once was a big fall with only bruises - the second was a small fall with concussion and a broken rib.

Our christmas was up and down a little like yours - had to work hard for Wifey's business and her father is quite seriously ill, and I was in agony for 7 days after I pulled one of my major trunk muscles.

But on the other had the baby had a fantastic time, the business is going from strength to strength and a few other nice things happened too.

You had mentioned wifey's stroke before. Her recovery gives me hope for my mum's. Ouch on the muscle pull, that's never fun. Glad some good things happened too! TB

Gravatar Not so great news about your mum. I hope everything sorts itself out and your mum has a speedy recovery - she's a trooper!

I had a lovely Christmas with my family down in Devon. So much food. Not as posh as yours but good nonetheless!

I fell down though and scarped my hands. I was bloody sober too.

Glad you Christmas is good. Here's hoping 2008 turns out even better than your 2007 ended! TB

Gravatar What a roller coaster! But your guardian angels were definitely on the ball.

Happy New Year!

Thanks. It was a roller coaster, but the ending is good so far! TB

Gravatar hugs to yer mum mate.

I have been advised that I enjoyed the New Year party we attended enormously. I am prepared to believe that is probably true.....hic

Had a very quiet NY myself. Stayed in with the kids and watched a movie, though we did crack a bottle of bubbly. Glad you enjoyed yours. TB

Gravatar BoT! You have to be careful, and are indeed lucky! My father fell from a ladder doing the very thing you were doing, and he ended up in the emergency room and took months to convalesce (he landed on bricks). Bless the guardian angel!

Best wishes to your mom.

x, c

You say nothing, and far kinder, than I've said to myself. Its quite amazing how many people have told me that either they, or someone in their family, has fallen from a ladder. Quite a common thing. I hate being common... TB

Gravatar Sorry to hear about the health challenges but glad that you had a good Christmas. Me and the little one had a great one as well. Cheers!!

Glad to hear it Matt. Was Santa good to you? TB

Gravatar Really glad you had such a good holiday, though sorry it was tempered by upsetting news. It is true that you are blessed though, in many ways (I could almost be positively green sometimes!), and encouraging that you recognise each and every one of those.

A happy and prosperous new year to you and yours x

I know I'm blessed, and am thankful for it every day. I know it could change in an instant, so try to live it well while everything is well. TB
