The Boy on Top

Gravatar In addition to the marketing aspects you mention, here is another reason I don't think all these chips are a good idea:

The U.S. government is collecting electronic records on the travel habits of millions of Americans who fly, drive or take cruises abroad, retaining data on the persons with whom they travel or plan to stay, the personal items they carry during their journeys, and even the books that travelers have carried, according to documents obtained by a group of civil liberties advocates and statements by government officials.

I guess we now know why flights have been delayed so much in the past year or so: Those security people are so busy recording the minutiae of our lives that they're slowing us up!

Oh I can happily talk about data privacy for a long long time. I'm in the industry and you don't know the half of it. Part of this note was to just introduce it to the waters and see if people want to know more... TB

Gravatar I think Wifey will want one straight away as her wardrobes are too full to rumage around in....

It would help her use the washing machine too as she has not idea how to use it. Seriously, she's never washed anything since we've been living togther....

Frankly I think most women are fully capable of dealing with technology when it suits them. Sometimes, like this, its a nice convenient out... TB

Gravatar It leaves me scratching my head and wondering, 'How does it know?' -- just like the thermos ... how does it know, hot or cold????

Magic, pure unadulterated magic. Doesn't really matter in the end, so long as it works... TB

Gravatar Oh bugger. I'm too old for all this. And I hate the invasion of privacy.

Its the invasion of privacy that has to be the concern. Technology is a wonderful thing, but the chance for control becomes a bit scary. TB
