We'll make better decisions about our energy future if we first understand our energy present.
I'm not one of those global warming negationists but in my opinion it doesn't seem too realistic to think that some non-structural changes in our energy consumption patterns (as green bulbs) are going to stop global warming.
And I think we should be also quite skeptic about if it is actually possible for the poor countries to develop while becoming green. To pass from a preindustrial state to an industrial or postindustrial society without damaging the environment is a bit like magic.
