Dude--get over it. He's brilliant, he's awkward, and he's completely self-assured of his own failings. Just because you prefer the "angry misfit" brand who'd rather drink microbrews and bitch about Lucas and Winnick the night away, but that does not discount Richard's particular variety. |

Here's what I'm saying: Richard may very well be playing-up the dweeb-ness and social awkwardness for full effect...but I don't think it's good. I'm glad the former Brandeis student is getting his 15 minutes, but I mean, it's at the cost of perpetuating a single stereotype. Plus, I don't like the underlying subtext: Good looking chicks don't need to be smart or actually learn anything - they just need to find a socially awkward smart guy who will marry the first girl that lays them. |
