Gravatar Now imagine how many of the people who've done Premium Blend are learning of The Aristocrats for the first time because of the movie, and you'll see what dire straights comedy's in.

Gravatar You wrote that so eloquently. Now I want even MORE to see the movie.

Gravatar Awww, shucks. Thank you. I'm blushin'...

Gravatar =v= This concept of "a non-comedy audience" intrigues me. To my ears, so much standup comedy is just a rehash of doody jokes and shopworn stereotyping, and most who try to "make it their own" don't do it very artfully. Am I "a non-comedy audience" because I have a low tolerance for bad standup?

Gravatar Bad stand-up is bad stand-up. And the job of any good comedian is to make ANYBODY and EVERYBODY laugh. Most comics hate bad stand-up, too. No one should tolerate bad comedy.

I just meant that there's an insider nature of the film that (I think) is lost on people who aren't comics or who haven't immersed themselves in comedy lore. It's the nature of any inside joke and if you're not in on it, it just doesn't seem funny.
