Gravatar no matter how many times i hear this perspective on the city with respect to revelation 21, i am so overwhelmed with love for God and for his vision for a beautiful community. It so inspires me to fight the good fight one more day, for can see the other side of the mountain, and it is beautiful. You could preach this every day and I would never tire of hearing it.

Gravatar Very interesting differentiation of Greek and Hebrew modes of discipleship. Not to sound like a broken record w/respect to philosophy, but that's seen as something of a primordial break in thinking by a number of philosophers - are there theologians that find the same break, or is this just your insight?

Gravatar There is a great deal of people who try to describe the "rabbinic method". I am trying to relate this to "observation-based" knowledge as opposed to rationalism. My understanding is that rationalism says ideas find their source in the mind while empiricist say ideas find their source outside the mind.

I would love any inpt from more trained philosophers to help with terms.

I have written very extensively on this subject in the essay "How Did We Get Here?" at our church web site under current teachings.

Gravatar right on in your assessment that western/hellenistic thinking has lead christianity down a path of inactivity and head knowledge. have you ever read: "The Shaping of Things to Come"?? good read, and follows a similar thought pattern...

Gravatar I'm a student at Redeemer/University College and am keenly interested in church renewal and community. I look forward to reading more of what you have to say. Shalom.
