I have to wonder what the great Bishop Athanasius would think of todays so called "churches". I can't imagine John Chrysostom not wielding his might tounge against a church that serves drinks along with the mysteries of the church. Sometimes I am puzzled as to why most of my protestant friends have never heard of men like Polycarp, Athanasius, Chrysostom, etc. I think maybe because a look at their faith and church does not yeild to a likeness shared by their faith and churches.

I find the article interesting, but very unfair in it's presentation. The argument fails poorly because only ONE scripture is quoted and then analysis is provided by post-apostalic comments.
I would take the article to heart and consider it, if the basis of the definition of what the ABC's were SOLELY relied upon scripture and not historic opinion.
Many feel the heart tug toward 1st century restoration, is it so... difficult to then rely upon scripture alone as a quide?
Too much of the current debate is camped upon discussions by both; institutional and emerging, outside of a pure examination of God's word.
I would like Mr. Bolsinger to reconstruct his arguments within the confines of the word and then gladly read the results.
