Hmmmmm. Well, the Great Depression is coming. A revolution is coming. A new Christian nation will rise out of this nation, I believe, by 2012.
God is Sovereign, in control, and it is well with my soul. The wise believer moves with God and yields, surrenders, and God causes that person to prosper even in the midst of famine - for God, not man nor man through government, is his strength.
Why did we fall?? Because Christians turned away from God to place their faith in Government. Sufficient did to give the left this election - and now it's over. The revolution will occur. (Political - secession in state legislatures.)
The Bible says that the man who depends upon the arm of flesh rather than God receives a curse. It makes God angry. Christians have been deceived. They thought it was "good" to look to government to meet the needs of the poor. Spiritually, we turned our backs on God. The Church, not the State, must care for the poor. The people must look to GOD and work through their churches - NOT look to man and work through their governments - or look to government to get their needs met. That's when the whore Babylon - the evil entity rises. Government is evil. Man is evil. God is good. The Church not the State must labor to care for the poor by free will looking to God. How soon they forget.

Grace,
I totally disagree. There are good policies and bad policies. Just like there are good car mechanics and bad car mechanics. This is a complex problem and the solution has been misapplied. What is needed is a HUGE HUGE HUGE stimulus plan based on government contracts for infrastructure. This bill is way to small and has way too many tax cuts. I won't work not because God likes it or doesn't like it but because it is bad policy. What people are putting their faith in is bad ideology about tax cuts and small government. It is just wrong headed in this situation.
I usually do not respond to comments but speculation about God's mind on politics is not what is needed at this time. I believe Jesus wants the economy to go well because He is compassionate. Instead, we get bad policy because people are stubborn. If we are to be judged for anything it is our stubbornness and our faith in unregulated markets.
