I read deep into NT and the People of God. He seemed to say, most of all, that the bible is for scholars like himself, and that it's four acts need to be supplimented with a 5th act, tradition or history of interpretation. It reminded me of the comment by Schweitzer on the search for the historical Jesus - they looked for him and found themselves.
