right on, Eric - thanks for posting this - you beat me to the punch!
This is a pretty huge step forward, if you ask me...one of the legislative actions that encourages me the most!

Brannon, Todd and others. I spoke with Eric over the phone about this, but think that this forum would be a good place to begin to formalize some resolutions for the next GAC. We could begin to discuss possible revisions and work on the articulation of such, and then be able to bring them to our respective districts, so that there is a wider group bringing these forward. Any thoughts on the matter???

Absolutely, J.B. - great idea. This is an obvious forum to undertake such an effort (probably better, even, than the facebook group). Perhaps the idea I keep floating of a retreat/conference/symposium could also be a place to collaborate on or refine such resolutions, too, in a face-to-face venue.
good stuff.

Actually, all of the "historical rational" stuff, was amended out, but the encouragement to move toward more frequent communion did pass.

413.11. To administer the sacrament of the Lord's Supper at least once a quarter. Pastors are encouraged to move towards a more frequent celebration of this means of grace.
I wonder if the rush to get home (get business done as quickly as possible) precluded any good discussion? Secondly, I would like to have seen the key pad used, to get a better feel for those for or against this resolution.

yeah, I'd think the "why" provided by the historical context stuff is almost as important as the "what" I'd think - that stinks that it was cut out.
