There is a picture I got in an email of a highway sign that says: "Welcome to Connecticut. Birthplace of President George W. Bush. And we apologize."

Also, my cousin told me that her daughter's French class in LA went on a trip to Europe last year. Their teacher was Romanian and the kids were told to speak Spanish (about half of them are Hispanic) or French, but no English. That was to avoid trouble with the locals.
Now, I've never felt that I had to pretend not to be an American, anywhere I went. What kind of lesson are those kids learning?

The picture was taken in Finland.
Well, unless there's another country where they have road signs in Finnish.

I think Bill Clinton, most recently went one better by practically admitting his friendship with George Bush Snr. This I saw on the news here where I am, last night. Whether politicians are 'right or left' officially, they probably eat popcorn watching the public protest about anything that gets to them, having a good old giggle.
It was quite unpalatable to watch Clinton play golf with Bush (and I'm not American and I saw it this way), then again I agree with the picture in your post, it's 'SSDD', same shit different smell (instead of asshole) but then again what can anyone expect from a man who expected the entire world to believe fellatio wasn't a sex act? A man, who last year, rallied behind John Kerry, who's become 'the man' whose Dubya's dad's golf buddy?
From my part of the world I can appreciate the comedy of it all. But the deeper meaning behind it only shows the fickle nature of politics and the illusion that it is or the game that it is - a game that's not worth the average person getting all het up over simply because they're not being paid enough for it.
