I would choose comfort. What good is a "stable" job when you're uncomfortable? Not to mention what you might end up putting your family through if you join up again.

You're probably right, and I'm having so much trouble getting paperwork done for the recruiter that I might be 40 before I would get an answer anyway.

I'll choose the comfortable, unstable civilian life most likely, but I can't figure out how to travel the world at the same time.

I'm sure it will come to me.
