The fruit of your labor is evident in your children!
I'd like to know more about your approach to home schooling.

My husband is a church planter with Sovereign Grace ministries here in Methuen MA and we are home schooling our four children, ages 10-17.

“there are still millions of public school students praying secretly to find decent jobs someday. Why not prepare our homeschool students to hire them? "

Pardon me but isn't that a tad arrogant?

We are classically homeschooling our 3 boys. They are 11, 9 and 8.

Do you have any recommendations for resources or ideas on how to teach English? What types of things worked well for your family? I need all the help/ideas/guiding that I can get.

I also would very much like to hear more about your approach to homeschooling, both more of spiritual and academic.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Gregg,

My wife and I are very happy to see you're up and blogging. We've got two young girls (1 and 3) and have been considering homeschooling for about a year now...after having said we would never homeschool. That was before we had children of course. Anyway, we've listened to your tapes and watched some of your videos. Good stuff! I have your book "Christian Homeschool" on hold at the library, so I hope to read it soon. You have no idea how encouraged we are to see that you have made yourself available via the internet. It wasn't too long ago that we could find you or any related ministries of yours with a "google search". I decided to try again this afternoon and lo and behold there you are! Blogging, HOFCC, and Noble Institute. We look forward to visiting your websites.

Thanks,
Mike and Katie Perrigoue - Bothell, WA

Mr. Harris,

I wrongfully homeschooled my children for 13 years. I say "wrongfully" because God never called me to do it; I called myself. There was no anointing for it to be successful. My children are grown now and dealing with their lack of knowledge. I've thought of buying video courses from The Teaching Company to help them. I would rather have comparable materials from a conservative Biblical source. Do you know of any? Thank you for your help.

Hi Gregg,

As an avid reader of all you write, I was delighted to see this article on the front page of the FPEA Almanac (Florida). I am the listowner of Florida-homeschool, a Christian homeschooling email support group on yahoogroups for parents in the state of Florida. Would it be possible to share this article with our listmembers? We have nearly a thousand Christian parents on our list, and I know many of them are not FPEA members, or are just beginning their homeschooling journey. Thanks for your consideration in this matter.

Joyfully His!

What a great article. You have eloquently put so many of my deepest thoughts into one article. it is empowering to hear other families standing up for God's calling on their lives. Now you are reaping the consequences of a heart in obedience to the Lord. Your children are your inheritance on earth. i pray I can keep the course over the years. It is easy to talk the talk, and hard to walk the walk when it comes to "being the wise companion" for your children. Thank you!

I especially enjoyed your clearly put statement that it is not enough for your children to believe in Christ and go to church... Lukewarmness will not do. "I want to see the fire of passion for the presence of God safely burning in the doctrinal place of each child's reformed faith."

What strength and reward you will all receive from the King one day... Hallejuah!

wonderful! i just sent the link to this to someone who is 'thinking' about homeschooling, but on the fence. thanks for sharing. please keep writing.
and i have to say as a mom of three girls, i read your sons book with great interest and so enjoyed it..we're def going that route. hve a great day
