Wow, thanks for the inspiring read. You've made me think about things I otherwise would not have.

That was excellent Brett! While I was reading, I was not surprised at seeing the high standards you have set for yourself. In getting to know you in the short period of time I did, I could instantly tell that you are not one to settle with easy accomplishments. In reading your resolutions I think I could say I was right. The resolutions that you gave yourself are very difficult to accomplish fully and to the exact point. But I am confident that you are doing an excellent job in working twords fufilling your goals =) Both you and Alex have been such an encouragment and inspiration to me. Hebrews 10:24 tells us to "consider how we may spur on one another on twords love and good deeds." Both of you have really got me thinking in the way you write and seeing the way you act (even though it was only for a short time.) Thanks for your perseverance in your work for Christ! You are truly amazing!
Your sister in Christ,
Lauren

Wow, thanks so much for sharing! It's so encouraging to see that there ARE other people who are striving for holiness, and that we're all fighting alongside each other!

Great list Brett! It's a lot more thorough and a lot more... resolved, than mine.

I liked it! It was a very encouraging read, and I can use all the encouragement I can get. My list of resolutions reminded me that I'm not perfect, yours encouraged me by reminding me that NOBODY is perfect, but by Christ.

'Be ye perfect' he says.

Well, at least I know I'm not alone in striving to keep that one.

God Bless!

~ In Christ, John.

amen. keep striving for holiness, and spurring us on as you go!!

Last night I was laying in bed thinking about my resolutions for this year. I was thinking that I would write out just such a sheet. Still shall, you have greatly encouraged me by posting yours. Are your 2006 resolutions nearly the same?

Wow. I'm humbled and inspired. Your parents must be so proud of you!

Fight the good fight. Run the race. Press for the finish, and don't look back. You guys are an inspiration to me. I'll be praying for you.

Wonderful resolutions. Meditation on these while reading daily "Valley of Vision" prayers will keep anyone focused on what lies ahead, something beyond this world we strive so hard to be excellent in.

I appreciate being redirected to that which lasts, the greatness and glory of God.

I just found my way here and I love what I see! Praise God for both of you. With all of the junk out there in this dark world it is so wonderful to see the Light of Christ so bright! What comes to mind is simply this "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" Thank you for running well. Please add me to your prayers. Thank you.

Great post, Brett. It was very encouraging!
Your resolutions reminded me of a favorite quote which I have had hung on my wall for about three years now.

"For we do not know our own limits of natural strength (+ grace) and if we do not aim at the highest, we shall certianly fall shorter than the utmost we could achieve."
-J.R.R. Tolkien

Happy New Year! Have a great 2006...

Nice resolutions, Brett. I especially like your emphasis on servant leadership. And I also appreciate the fact that you stressed that your resolutions are not something you can keep in your own power. I think we often set ourselves up for failure with New Year's Resolutions because we make these huge commitments and there's no way we can ever keep them in our own strength. Anyway...nice job. :-) Happy new year. :-)

Happy New Year to all of you. I'm glad that these resolutions have served you in some way. May the Lord richly bless you and strengthen you to accomplish His purposes for you this year.

Thanks abunch for the blog. It was very convicting.

"I write New Year's Resolutions is because I believe God's Word"

You either need to take "is" out of there, or put "The reason" before "I write."

Thanks, "me."

Fixed.

A terrific website, which we are recommending to our young people on our church website.

Thanks for going to the trouble.

Hey Alex and Brett!

I didn't know you'd keep this old generic blogger template of The Rebelution after launching a full site. I'm quite surprised that you kept this. Thanks for keeping this anyway. I'd like to look back how The Rebelution has changed my perspective on the teen years. It has grown so much ever since. And I have grown so much ever since.

Happy 2009 brothers!

In Christ,

Christin
