A shortened version the Saturday, Jan. 12 diary entry appears in Little Susy's Little Servants which is a children's book meant for very young readers from the 18th century written by Elizabeth Prentiss. It is amazing that young children were becoming familiar with his life and work, while his writings are hardly ever appreciated by young people now. |
