This quote just popped out at me. It reminded me of the first Heidelberg Catechism question. How true that we are not our own. It made me think about how horrible my life would be if it was my own.

A shortened version the Saturday, Jan. 12 diary entry appears in Little Susy's Little Servants which is a children's book meant for very young readers from the 18th century written by Elizabeth Prentiss. It is amazing that young children were becoming familiar with his life and work, while his writings are hardly ever appreciated by young people now.
