Noel says that we're still getting over Kev's game, saying it included one of the best openings and the most disastrous round ever. And he points out that he could have become the 10th member of the 1p club, as he would have taken the swap.
No comedy wing banter today, and today's player is...
GRAEME!
Stephen |

Noel attempts to analyse Kev's game yesterday - strong start, disaster middle, and er... odd finish. I don't believe he would have ended up another 1p member, that would have required sheer stupidity.
Today, it's GRAEME, with booyeah box 22!

Kev's game was the second this week to come close to a 1p winner. £50,000 on Wednesday, £75,000 on Thursday, will it be a six figure sum today!
Graham time, with the BOOYEAH box! Blimey, with that tuxedo and kilt, you'd think he knew!

He's a bit surprised about being called this early...I think he's only done 18 shows. Getting married next week though.
I won't attempt to spell his surname but he's a bingo caller from Aberdeen. He's also got a sleep disorder.

This is not a very good start.
Box 13 (Stephen)
-£250-
We REALLY needed that... still one of the higher blues though.

No we aren't, £250, the long run continues!
"That's how unlucky I am" says Graeme. "Oh, no, don't say that!" says Noel, but he says he's an unlucky person and this is the luckiest thing that's ever happened to him.

I haven't heard that 'sad' music in ages.
And hopefully won't hear it for a while again yet, as we've taken out another blue! The 10p-£100 block is still worrying, though.
It seems insane to say that we're in round 2 and there's only three higher than the £8,000 offer, but that's the case. But we're not going yet, No Deal!

Quick conversation there. The banker wants him to think about this offer very very carefully.
Offer Two

All-blue round at last but Jenine's in hysterics. Why? "You have to be careful turning around quickly" she says, referring to Graeme in his kilt. So Graeme gives them a twirl, causing a bit of anarchy.

I can't believe that. I can't believe we got a £101,000 win and heard absolutely nothing at all about it. He had one of the worst starts EVER and then went and won that!
The insane thing is that in his early shows he used to do poems, like Morris. And *last year* there was a spoiler that someone won big on the 4th May, in fact they were out by two days and Gaz won £100,000 on the 2nd May...one year later it finally comes true!

I'm not sure what was the most stupid thing that appeared in this commentary.
The porn spam post, or Graham's No Deals.
If he'd turned down the £101k it would have been the latter, and £5k would have been a beautiful ending for me.
I watched the end on the simulcast because I saw the clock and knew exactly what was coming. Although I expected it to be a sixth No Deal too, and really hoped it would be a 50p win, then a £500 win, then a £5k win...
Noel attributing his No Dealing to the audience is telling. It implies that the players are influenced by external forces, and that means him.
I note that even Noel seemed to be leaning towards Deal at £41k, and even the Bristol mob reacted as though they could add up for once; how much Wakeyistic behaviour from Noel got edited out in that period?
Finally, if ever there was proof the straddling game format the US uses is better, that was it. The £41k ND was effectively signalled well in advance to anyone with a clock.

If that was Noel who said that, he's wrong. Laura, Jennifer, Bunney and Claudine all won more.
The comment in my household after he no deal the £41K was "I hope he wins 50p". A bit extreme but that was definitely one for the "reckless gambler but very lucky" club.

That was actually me getting my sums wrong, sorry. Fifth is still good, though.
Needless to say that Graeme's the biggest winner on the 4th ever, beating Kirsty's £75k win way back in April last year. First Friday OPW since Charlie (6th April), biggest win and OPW since Bunney (31st January) but incredibly not the biggest Friday win ever, that stays with Jennifer! Seems customary for the first week of May to have a six figure win...

I see Colin the newbie had the £250,000. My theory of the "power of the four corners" proved dividends today.
Also fair play to those who saw or heard the show kept the whole thing a secret.

I would have dealed on the £21,000, but I think going on one more round was an acceptable risk. But the no deal at £41,000 was in my opinion stupid, and he didn't deserve to win.
The fact that he won big money in no way means that he made a sensible decision.

Wow, I'm upset to have missed this won.
I'm somewhat amazed that someone who considers themselves so unlucky would No Deal some of those offers, but I'm happy for him.

Why are people so nasty about contestants on DOND? Reading posts like "oh I hope he ends up with 50p" and "5k would be beautiful" after losing £96000 make me want to vomit.
Did you shout stuff like "I hope he doesn't even get the Blankety Blank chequebook and pen" in the 80's?
Graham has £101000. He took a major risk and it paid off. It's his game and no one elses.

It wasn't me who said the 50p comment - it was someone else watching TV with me.

It's a bit of a double-edged sword. Barring stupid banker offers (i.e. Laura) or very strong boards - it needs a gamble to win big money.

Well, I wasn't being nasty. I'm glad he won the money, and I'm certainly glad he didn't go away with a blue. And of course it's his game, and he can play it how he wants.
I still think he made a stupid decision, though.

When all the dust has settled, finally I know it. Both love and do not love, time vast, what will become events of the past. Only the hero online gold will not change and it always exists. The world can not retain and the trees are changing all the year. Walk into the hero; overture opened the first online games. The aria is very beautiful, as a banquet, the sound is good and it reverberates in the night.
