I've done my fair share of internet dating, but I can honestly say I've been very lucky, especially compared to your horror story. Not to say all my dates worked out. If that were the case, I wouldn't be single today. But at least my worst date turned out to just be a guy that I had no attraction to at all and nothing to talk about.

Ah, right! Interesting story indeed. I recognize a lot of it, having been one of the “friends” personally confronted to “talk to Brian for me”. Funny thing about this girl is that when you first talk to her she seems nice enough. But once the coke thing comes to light you know to run like hell.
I am of the mindset that people rarely change... much. Oh, I know, we try. We make a good effort, or we change just because our lives go down so many paths and we experience so much. But none of us really change so radically that people don't recognize us - the true us. Anyway that's what I believe. Except, I should say, for coke addicts. They're just someone else afterward, and never who I knew before in any way at all.
Too bad about her, though. She did have a hot body.

Nicholas is one of the few cats I have met that is fit to live. And I was there when all the creepy stalker emails and phone calls came. I also remember when you called her and told her to back the hell off. I think I have only seen you that angry one other time in my life. It was impressive.

Wow. I just found you on a search. Great writing. One of my co-workers just told me about a player she met online who has been playing games after 2 weeks of hot and heavy emailing and then just dumped her cold, witout even a goodbie or explanation. I have had some really wierd experiences myself. Yours equals or tops my worst.
I think the choice really depends on the person. One part of me feels like I have to be the one to fish through emails and look at profiles and go on a online dating that I choose because no one knows me better than I do. But another part of me would prefer an expert to match me up with someone and possibly eliminate those people I will not connect with. Maybe someday I will try both to see which works better.
