The People Will Have Their Say

I have to say, the previews look awful. I really enjoyed Casino Royale. I thought this was the first Bond who seemed like a sociopath, and I think you naturally are a sociopath if you're killing people. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but killing for the government? Killing for the greater good? There has to be another way. Anybody who takes that job just likes to kill. So I really did appreciate that this guy was a little bit yucky. One gets the impression there isn't a lot of depth of emotion. Maybe that's why this one doesn't work as well -- is he really mourning his dead girlfriend? Hard to believe he can do that with any depth. Just another excuse for killing, I suspect. I would find an emotional reaction of anger at having something taken away from him more likely.

Anyway, the previews look like a disjointed mess of explosions. I'm going to skip this in the theatres. I'm glad it's not as bad as it looks, but I have a feeling I wouldn't like it at all.

My favorite scene in Casino Royale was the poker scene that ends in his car -- I don't want to spoil that for anyone who hasn't seen that movie. Anything like that in this movie?

Gravatar i am more of a sean connery bond girl myself.

Gravatar OK. You've given me another reason to see it: so I can figure out the stunt scene that annoyed you.
