The People Will Have Their Say |
|
I have to say, the previews look awful. I really enjoyed Casino Royale. I thought this was the first Bond who seemed like a sociopath, and I think you naturally are a sociopath if you're killing people. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but killing for the government? Killing for the greater good? There has to be another way. Anybody who takes that job just likes to kill. So I really did appreciate that this guy was a little bit yucky. One gets the impression there isn't a lot of depth of emotion. Maybe that's why this one doesn't work as well -- is he really mourning his dead girlfriend? Hard to believe he can do that with any depth. Just another excuse for killing, I suspect. I would find an emotional reaction of anger at having something taken away from him more likely. |
