I love the Motley Hue! Can I have it?
Sorry, you know I had to ask.

Sooper-dooper acquisitions there, K! I can't believe that you walk into town and pick up that sort of yarn, just like that... I have to plod many a weary mile, with my knapsack on my back, to score beauties such as those. Tough luck, eh!
And I used to love The Prisoner when I was a young girly - that freaky bouncing balloon thing! Memories...

Amy - as soon as I saw your name, even before I read what you had to say, my fingers were positioned over the keyboard in the "NO" stance. Sorry...
Clare: it's rough living where you live, I guess... but easier on the pocketbook, yeah?

Good book suggestion : I think it's called "Lost and Found" by Carolyn Parkhurst, the lady who wrote "Dogs of Babel". It's about a reality tv show, very witty and dark. Trashes the whole genre (even though I LOVE reality tv - it's my vice you see)it was a great read. Love your haul as usual.

Thanks, Tracy! Have just put both books on hold at the library. Keep hearing about Dogs of Babel but forgetting. I love the library!!!

That's OK, I got some pretty new yarn of my own, I don't need your old Motley Hue.

Wow! That yarn looks lovely! By the way I'm blaming you as being completely responsible for my new found obsession with lace! ha ha!
I keep buying the yarn - just haven't started anything with it yet. Really it's the winding of it that scares me!
Ah... the Prisoner. I really must re-watch it someday. Alot of people love it. I had to watch it in Grade 12 English and didn't like it. Well. More aptly I didn't like the teacher so tended to either sleep through his class or ahem...skip it altogether. (sssshhh. Don't tell my kids!)
Have a great rest of your day!

Sarah: wind it by hand... maybe. I don't know. That's what I do, then again I don't have a winder.
Let me know if you ever get around to watching the Prisoner and like it. I probably wouldn't have liked it if I had to watch it in grade 12 english either... LOL. Sometimes they re-run it on CBC late at night.

Kristina,
I am so sad... I've managed to tangle my Malabrigo laceweight already and all I did was undo the knots holding it all in place. What to do? What to do?
Woe is me!

Your posts leave me reeling. Mind you, I mean this in a very positive sense, but really! I must remind myself to read your blog only after affectionately fondling my own yarn stash, looking through my small but satisfactory knitting library, and assuring myself that Trash Thursday opportunities are right around the corner.
Because now I am absolutely convinced that I need lace books and some handmaiden. And some more yarn with a kick-ass name. Oh, and a library. Hmph.

Sarah: I've seen an idea to spray it with spray starch. How badly is it tangled? Is it still somewhat in the shape that it came in? I also use a tiny crochet hook to get out of trouble like this. Sigh.
Linnea: one of these days you're going to find something valuable on Trash Thurssday, sell it and then buy all the Handmaiden and "library" books you want...
Soo: thanks. I do hope for the sake of my pocketbook that I never surpass that benchmark!
