Gravatar Well, Carmen, I lost my breakfast on that one! Mass giggles of suprise and amazement-plus food everywhere!

Out ruddy standing! Fashionably tall! I think I am going to have to have a tall hat. Maybe not a fruity hat, but a really tall hat looks so, AWESOME!

Well done!

Gravatar Now THAT is a headdress. If I hadn't known better, I would have thought that Carmen herself was standing in your living room.

Gravatar That looks fabulous!

I actually dressed as a drag queen for a big Halloween Rave at one of the dorms when I was in college. There are no pictures, but the outfit included very high heels and a bright, neon pink dress with neon pink and silver/glittery fuzzy bits all over and outrageous hair and pink lipstick/eye shadow and bright pink nails, which were really long at the time. It looked great!

Gravatar Thanks and "aw shucks". Would have loved to see the Hallowe'en rave photos, Batty! And Holly - these are so easy to make. Suggestion - if you actually want to wear it go with hollow or styrofoam stuff.

Amy - thanks for the compliment It does make one look rather exotic, doesn't it?

Gravatar Yes!!! I love Carmen Miranda, and I love the Pontani Sisters (been considering their go-go dancing/workout DVDs for a while).

I dressed up as a drag queen for Halloween 1998 or so. 'Twas a blast! My dq name is "Taffy Harris".

Gravatar Andrea: great drag name! Mine is Mistress Alexandra the Great.

There is a workout DVD? Wow... something guaranteed to get me off my chip-eating, diet coke swilling butt? I'm heading to HMV right after work for sure now! (can't at lunchtime because am dashing to the Storm shop in the hopes that an ultra-funky bag I saw there yesterday will still be there today...)

Gravatar Hey KB - I think that's the tallest free-standing Carmen Miranda homage in the world, at least until they finish building that new one in Kuala Lumpur.

Gravatar Carmen Miranda! Woman, you are totally NUTS!!! That's why I love your blog!
Joan
