Your shawl is truly gorgeous, K! I haven't checked out that book, but I certainly will now... And yep, blocking lace is a bit of a necessity, I'm afraid, but the results speak for themselves (btw, did someone send for the men in white coats when you pinned the shawl out in the snow?!).
Glad you like the 80s sweater - I actually couldn't quite bring myself to ever knit it (stifles snigger), but I might have guessed it would appeal to you!

Ok, this may have been the perfect knitting post! Really. You made me want to knit lace, buy more handmaiden yarn, and try these mystical blocking wires that you speak of.
I am also feeling like I am missing out by never hearing of, let alone eating this magic croquembouche stuff. Am in tears of food agony just hearing about it.
Good job on the Perfect Post!! Wait, I called it PP with out shoes, beer or Daniel Craig. I must still be liquered up from the weekend!

Clarabelle, funnily enough the neighbour down the hall came out to walk his dog while I was doing this and we had a big old convo. Turns out he knits too!
Holly... just call me the Yarn Harlot...er, slut... er, pimp.
Soo - thanks so much!

Breathtaking.
Someday I am going to be like you and I am going to knit lace and make beautiful shawls and scarves and everything else lacy...someday.

Why haven't you whipped up that $500 commission yet? You are the fastest knitter I've ever seen.
This little triangle scarf is just as wonderful as the others you've been making lately. For someone who never wanted to knit lace, you seem to have "broken through."
I've never eaten Croak em boosh but I've always wanted to MAKE one. I've seen Martha toss that spun sugar around it once it's put together. Looks like such fun.

Mmmm - lovely! Six days though? Amazing!
And croquembouche - one of my all time faves, made many a choux puff in my lifetime, and wished I had pulled that project for my pastry school graduation than the chocolate truffle thing I ended up with.

Pastry school graduation, DeltaDawn?? Sounds interesting. I can't bake, myself... but I'll eat others' baking
Thanks, S - and no commission as yet.

Could you please post the pattern of that beautiful shawl? That book is unfortunately not available where I live.

Marjolein - I don't feel that I can post the pattern without permission from the author of the book. If you look on Amazon website you should be able to get the book sent to you. Sorry - don't mean to be unhelpful... but in part it's not my pattern to post.
