Gravatar The mini's are so darn cute!!!!! It's sick and wrong. Really.

Ah yes, I own the original. Kristina told me how to do the linky dink thing and I still can't figure it out. If you really want to see it with the goods...visit knitwithsnot and search for "freaking pillow." That'll do it.

Kristina, you are a God among ants.

Gravatar "A God Among Ants" - oh Holly, don't tell me I have to change the name of my blog AGAIN!!!

So - you liked my first warshcloth?

heh heh heh

Love the search term for the log cabin post...

Gravatar The minis are so cute. My 6-year-old nephew was looking over my shoulder and when I came to the circle of fun he said, "Look at that, it's a knitted wheel and tire." I have to agree that it bears a strong resemblance. I have been shopping for a car all morning, wish I could knit one of those.

Gravatar But you can, Amy... It's easy.

Car shopping - agh. Good luck! JJ just bought a new car last year this time. I remember (not all that fondly) the treks around town at the time.

Gravatar ugh, it is enough to make me want to pull my hair out. If you are watching the news and hear about some crazy Oklahoma girl that held a car dealership hostage with a BB gun (that's the only kind of gun I have)demanding a reasonably priced car and an acceptable interest rate, there's a good chance it will be me. I might be needing a Lawyer.

Gravatar Don't do it!!! Just be thankful you're not buying a car in Canada. Our news has been full these days of people defecting to the US to buy a car because although our dollar is now on par or better than the US dollar, the identical car sold here costs $7-8K more than in the US!!! Cdn government is trying to make some arrangement with cross-border towns not to sell cars to Canadians. A real mess.

I know - it's frustrating though. JJ was getting really pissed off last year. He finally found something decent - he said it's a good time of year to shop for cars because you can get "last year's" (i.e. 2007) models at a discount because they've already come out with 2008 models.

Gravatar I wouldn't be doing it all, but I am afraid that my poor car is old and tired and is quickly losing the will to live. The whole process is quite frankly sucking the life out of me too. Freakin' American cars...it only has 285,000 miles on it. Can't they make one that will last anymore???? Sheesh. I should have traded it about 3 years ago, but it became a game to see how many miles I could get on it before it finally gave up.

Gravatar I've just bought and read through MDK twice; have made one baby kimono, and am on #2 (chartreuse and violet, hold your breath) and have completed one baby burp cloth and bought enough yarn to make untold more. There's a baby due in my family, obviously, but not until April, so I've time to make a PILE of stuff...your patterns come after a wonderful, easy blankie of Filatura "Mama" which is light and heavenly.

I've been knitting for 40 years - from college through days in the Santa Barbara boatyard where my boyfriend and I built a 38' sailboat (I was the only woman, so knit out of self-defense) and on into a 5-year stint as a merchant seaman (what's-a nice-girl-like-you-doing-out-here)and find it something I need to do to feel normal (is that ever possible) or perhaps healthy. I began with Super Yarn Mart cheapie stuff until after my first sweater, which stretched so badly I learned the important leasson for all knitters, "It takes as long to knit something from crummy yarn as it does from good yarn, but it doesn't make you feel as good."

I stopped knitting an alpaca adaptation of a VK pattern for a lattice-front hoodie to get busy on the baby front, and am SO GLAD to have found you-all.

What do I do now? I've never blogged, so this may be the wrong place for these comments.

Gravatar Hi Kathy: thanks for stopping by! Were you trying to join the MDK knitalong blog? If so, there is a link to an Email address over at their page http://masondixonkal.blogspot.com).
