I'm not sure i get it, but it's hard to see how celebrating the Eucharist LESS is a plus.

This is a complicated issue, but I think it boils down to celebrating the Eucharist means participating in the Sacrifice of the Mass and receiving the Eucharist at that Mass. A communion service is where the Eucharist is simply given out, separate from the Sacrifice.
"Receiving the Sacrament is the culmination of participating in the sacrifice"

I think you meant to say the "Liturgy of the Hours" or the Opus Dei. The Liturgy of the Word, with communion service is now surpressed as of July 1st.
