Your right, prayers don't heal cancer-- but God does. We speak to God in our prayers asking for His help because He has told us that if we come to Him and ask of Him He will help us. There are many real life stories of God healing people and preforming miracles because of prayers from people. God will help us if we turn to Him. Sometimes for the better, God chooses not to do what we requested of Him, but that will only be for a greater good. Prayer does indeed work----hey, when was the last time you tried praying? $\"Gravatar\"$ I strongly believe that praying does not cure cancer but that prayer may be helpful to the person praying. Thousands of children die from cancer all over the world. If prayer worked, why are so many children still dying from cancer. Consider writing to your Senators and Reps so that they will fund more cancer research. Hold fund raisers and use the money to improve the quality of lives of dying children and their families. Get active with your local cancer foundation, volunteer. They need your help. If everything else fails, pray and fast.

Just make sure that whatever you do, you don't pray, because Satan doesn't like that, and I want brownie points with him.

They do, in fact, heal cancer as well as other ailments. There are many people who can attest from firsthand experience to this fact. Diseases determined by medicine and science to be incurable disappear with no plausible explanation other than divine intervention. Claiming that because not everyone is healed by miracles is like claiming that medicine is useless because it doesn't save everyone. God may choose who He wishes to intervene with and who He doesn't, and it's not up to us to judge Him for it. And if you make the common mistake of thinking that because you don't see why God would save some and not others, it's because you are not psychic and can't know what anyone, God most certainly included, is thinking unless someone tells you so. He is not required to answer to you for anything he does.

No one is forcing you to believe in God, though I will pray to Him that He shows you His way. (And if after all that, you still cling to your belief that prayers do nothing, you have nothing to worry about when I say I'll pray for you.)

Do they expect to convince us of their emptiness and shallowness when our Faith is the biggest treasure we have on earth, which we would not change for anything? Even mere reason can tell you that no one make the generalization 'prayers can't work a miracle' because that would mean he had interviewed and studied every case in which a person said she was healed by cancer. One of my best friends' daughter was healed of cancer when her doctor said she had only two weeks to live. I SAW THAT HAPPEN. That was fourteen years ago!
