And, yeah, it's shitty for them to use terms like gaijin in articles, but keep in mind the following:



A) these are tabloid articles

B) we can't be sure as to what the original language said since these are English translations, but...

C) it's not like it really matters since gaijin probably was the term used in the original Japanese version of the article, since that's what they call us anyway



I can see your point about using the term, though, since it's not exactly a term of endearment. But, you know, there are plenty of people in our media who'd love to use racially offensive terms like that when they write, so we can give the Japs credit for at least being honest.

Oh yeah, almost forgot... the fact that they use the term gaijin in a news article really pisses me off. Especially sense I had to explain (in fucking 8th grade mind you) to my Japanese-american friends why forcing Japan into more fair trade practices in Japan for american companies was not "Jap-bashing", "Japan-bashing" or any of those other racist terms they were using to describe those that supported the act (by Clinton) to do so.
