Among John Correll's many contributions to MSHA was his contracting fraud, as reported in the Mine Safety and Health News. John Correll was on the board of directors of a company that got thousands of dollars of new contracts as soon as he was hired by MSHA. The Inspector General report tried to downplay it, pretending that the crew of newly hired industry pigs were too new to the government to be expected to know any of the government laws. The IG did say that David Meyer, the civil service lackey who greased the contracts did the most shredding, was blameworthy and should be punished, but the foxes decided not to punish David Meyer for helping them steal all that money from the mine safety program. |
