I might be remembering this wrong (I've not really used it myself), but doesn't Windows Media Player have some sort of hook-up with AMG or something similar? So that when WMP recognises a track or album it pulls up all of AMG's info, including cover art, reviews, performer info etc. It shouldn't be that difficult for iTunes to come to some similar licensing arrangement; or maybe they're working on it? The info isn't stored in the MP3 file itself, it's just a system of interralting databases, so filesharing probably wouldn't bring all the info in (fair enough), but bought tracks would.

Gravatar I've used WMP a few times at work to play CDs (at home I only use it to play Alias!) and I think you're right. While AMG is no panacea, especially for boxsets, it's a pretty good start.

Gravatar I care who plays bass. Paul chambers played bass on kind of blue.
