Gravatar Yes, I Agree 100 percent.

I don't like singer / songwriters at all. Lack of " musical". Much too far away from complexeties of contemporary music / new thing / jazz.

This one is an exception.
Others : Judee Sill, Kevin Ayers.

Gravatar I can't agree with opinion the expressed about the song Poor Boy. The piano solo is not only amazing and spontenaous, it moves me a great deal, I'd say it is very raw although very complex. On the view that the general atmosphere of the album (Bryter Later) doesn't reflect Nick Drake's feelings, I'll say: it may not fit with the common image we have of the 'depressed' and troubled songwriter, but that's just another side of the very same artist, it's also very musical and that's what matters the most.
Still I personnaly think that Five Leaves left is a better album that Bryter Later, but not because it's more folk and less produced, just because it has more incredible songs. And I don't like Pink Moon, never liked it, I think it's ways below the two previous albums.
