I never liked DS9 either, but I confess that I recently watched one of the 2part season finales with some roommates...and it was good.

I was very surprised. It wasn't interesting back then.

I've been slowly plodding through the episodes my DVR has recorded off of SpikeTV. Generally speaking, I've hated any episode that focuses on: Bashir, the holodeck, alternate universes, or Bashir in the holodeck in an alternate universe.

Yep, Bashir sucks. And they overused the holodeck towards the last few seasons, which was also a problem with TNG.

The Spike episodes have a problem that I didn't have with the rentals - they aren't in order. Take a look at the listings, and in a single week there might be episodes from 1994, 1996 and 1997.

I was a hardcore DS9 fan for about the first four to five seasons, but then I started missing some shows here and there and once you do that it is too hard to keep up.

Overall, I think it was a vastly under-rated show.
