hans, if you're still looking, pick up the latest (march) issues of macworld and/or macaddict, good info on what 'intel' will mean to macs, speed of the rollout, comparisons w/ old chips, which apps are already written for intel, etc. - also, the newest app in ilife, a web editor geared towards... blogs.

thanks isired. i am definitely still interested. i am waiting now for two things. 1) the reviews and user feedback on the new laptops and 2) more word on how wise it would be to wait for the new chip (merom) later this year. i may go buy one of those mags tonight.
